Reports To: Chief Pilot
Job Duties: EMS R/W Pilot for Pre-Hospital,
Inter-Hospital, and Gift of Life
Aeromedical Transportation. Other duties as assigned by the Chief Pilot or
Director of Operations
Applicants seeking this position would need as minimum
qualifications the following ratings and experience:
Requirements:
- U.S. FAA Commercial Certificate with Rotorcraft,
Helicopter and Instrument, Helicopter Ratings.
- Current Class II flight physical.
- US Citizen.
- 2000 Total hours as a pilot in helicopters.
- 500 Night flight hours.
- 100 IFR actual flight hours.
- 2000 Flight hours in turbine powered helicopters.
- Successfully complete a company orientation interviews,
medical evaluation, pre-employment drug screening, National Driver Registry
review, previous employer record review, and FAA background investigation.
Additional background security checks may also be required.
- Prefer EMS flight experience.
- Prefer 3000+ total flight hours
- Prefer 500+ civilian flight
hours.
- Prefer 500+ night flight hours.
- Prefer 300+ actual IFR hours.
- Prefer non-smoker.
- Prefer Airline Transport Certificate.
- Prefer BO-105 & MD-902 Experience
SkyFlightCare, a hospital based aero-medical program is seeking pilots to work
in the greater Philadelphia area.
SkyFlightCare is currently operating a BO-105 and has just signed a purchase
contract with MD Helicopters for a new MD-902. MD Helicopters is planning to
deliver a in-term MD-902 aircraft within 90 days until the new MD-902 is
completed. We have been given a delivery date of January 2004 for the new
aircraft.
Side Note: This is a PIC position. We are seeking
highly skilled pilots with a varied background of off heliport operations.
Applicant will be expected to conduct safe & efficient aircraft operations
as PIC without the aid of a SIC pilot. Operations involve flights during Day
& Night in Marginal VFR weather. We are anticipating an IFR operation in the
near future. This is not a job for someone who is just starting in the aviation
industry, or for someone who wants to "return" to aviation. We are seeking
experienced, Current, qualified pilots. Additionally, the applicant should have prior EMS experience due to
the nature of this position, pilots are visually exposed to patient injuries.

Duty schedule for full time employment:
Duty assignments are based on a 12 hour shift from 7 to 7,
Day or Night assignment.
Schedules are
posted two months in advance providing "HARD DAYS OFF".
Shift rotation is 2, 2, & 3
Example:
Week 1 - You would work Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
Week 2 - You would work Wednesday, Thursday.
This provides you with a 84 hour pay period, and every other weekend you have
off Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

Job Duties:
- Delivers quality patient care in Aeromedical
environment
- Well versed in SkyFlightCare Protocols and Operating
County EMS Protocols
Requirements:
- Current RN and CFRN & CEN for the State of Pennsylvania.
- Minimum 2 years experience in critical care and
pre-hospital setting.
- Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS/PEPP provider
- Have taken one of the following courses once: TNCC,
BTLS or PHTLS
- Able to work independently and tolerate high stress
levels
- Ability to work 12 hour shifts with rotation.
- Successfully completed SkyFlightCare training program
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 80 lbs. and carry 40 lbs. floor to
bench height
- Maintains physical conditioning to meet job
expectations
- Able to conduct activities requiring a moderate amount
of standing, sitting, and walking
- Able to conduct activities requiring a moderate amount
of static pushing, pulling, and lifting (knuckle height and ankle height)
- Ability to hear routine aircraft and medical equipment
noises
Working Conditions:
- The Flight Nurse's duties are performed in indoor or
outdoor environments. May be exposed to routine office noises, minor
electrical and mechanical hazards, and frequent exposure to an aircraft hanger
environment where the flight nurse may be exposed to loud aircraft noise,

Creates, implements and
manages communication center aimed at all users of SkyFlightCare to include,
but not limited to, emergency services, medical institutions and other
interested groups that are consistent with the goals and objectives of
SkyFlightCare and CHS.

Conducts weekly visits to
referral agencies, including hospitals, clinics, and EMS agencies.

Acts as a liaison with the
news media regarding issues relating to SkyFlightCare, in conjunction with
CHS. public relations office and any other appropriate office or person.

Responsible for maintaining
contact with, and providing program updates to community agencies, support
groups, committees, and other health care implementation/approval process of
the SkyFlightCare program.

Develops and distributes
information and promotional materials for SkyFlightCare to promote awareness
of the SkyFlightCare program in the community.

Coordinates activities with
OutReach Education Coordinators.

Attends meetings as requested
by the Program Director.

Maintains timely
communications with the Program Director.

Participates in activities
that promote professional growth and self-development.

Performs other related work as
directed by the Program Director.
Requirements:

Experience in employee
management and development and direct customer interface.

Job Duties:
- Serve as a communication coordinator between all
customers of SkyFlightCare, including aircraft flight crews, pre-hospital
health care providers, hospital health care providers, and other callers.
- Coordinates all flight coordination information,
including computer data entry
- Responsible for flight following from lift off to touch
down, following all FAA and company regulations
- Responsible for presenting a professional image on the
telephone and radio
- Responsible for initial communications of public,
private, and flight-related calls coming into the SkyFlightCare Comm Center..
- Responsible for the communications between pre-hospital
health care providers and the receiving institutions.
- Promotes communication between Communications
Specialists, members of Flight team and outside agencies.
- Compliance with policies and procedures defined in the
CHS Employee Handbook, SkyFlightCare Policy and Procedure Handbook and
customer defined policy and procedure.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Basic computer skills preferred
- EMT or other medical terminology knowledge preferred
- Ability to make accurate and timely decisions
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to communicate clearly over telephone and radio
- Ability to take reports accurately
- Good customer service skills
Annually the Communication Specialist’s immediate
supervisor will evaluate the communication specialist on his/her ability to
complete the Essential Duties and Responsibilities of this position in a timely
and accurate manner.
